Local SEO

Getting found for searches with local intent — the map-style local pack and 'near me' results — built on a complete Google Business Profile, consistent NAP, reviews, and location pages.

Local SEO is how a business that serves a place (a clinic, a trades business, a café, a multi-area service) shows up when someone nearby searches for what it does. It adds a second surface on top of normal results: the local pack, the map plus three business listings Google shows for local intent.

The weights are well studied. In Whitespark's 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors survey, proximity to the searcher is the single biggest factor at roughly 55% (and largely outside your control), followed by Google Business Profile signals at about 32%, review signals at 16 to 20% (and rising), on-page SEO at 19%, and links at 15%. So the highest-leverage work you actually control is a complete, claimed Google Business Profile, a steady flow of reviews, consistent NAP, and real location pages, all on a foundation search engines can crawl and understand.

Location page

Good/locations/quezon-city with a clear H1 ('Emergency plumbing in Quezon City'), genuine local content, consistent NAP, and LocalBusiness schema.

WeakOne 'Areas we serve: QC, Makati, Pasig…' list that names cities but says nothing specific — it ranks for nothing.

What to do about it

Claim and fully complete your Google Business Profile: correct primary category, hours, photos, and services. An unclaimed or thin profile is a direct ranking and click-through gap.

Earn reviews consistently (velocity and response rate matter more than a one-time burst), keep NAP identical everywhere, and give each area a real location page with LocalBusiness schema, not one thin 'areas we serve' list.

Common questions

What's the single most important local SEO factor I control?

Your Google Business Profile. Proximity outweighs everything but you can't change where people search from; GBP signals carry roughly a third of the local-pack weight and are entirely within your control. Claim it, complete it, and keep reviews coming.
